Puppy mills pose a significant challenge in New Zealand. While you may receive a puppy for your investment, many of these animals are raised in conditions that lack humane treatment.
Good questions to ask:
How often do you breed this dog, and why this litter?
What health tests have the parents had?
Can I speak with your vet or previous puppy buyers?
What support do you offer after purchase?
A legitimate breeder will answer clearly and won’t pressure you to pay quickly.
A simple rule is: see the puppy, see the mother, verify the health paperwork, verify/receive the pedigree papers and use a contract before money changes hands. That sequence filters out many scams and bad breeding setups.
Buyer beware
If you have any problems they will demand you give your dog back or take them to court. They also give dogs away to gain leverage, then demand huge amounts of money through the courts or again threaten to take your pet back.
They delete bad reviews off their social media.

Personally I would stay clear – look for the reputable breeders – Please ensure wherever you go, you ask whether parents have at the minimum been health tested (as in DNA , Spine and hips x-rayed)- even some breeders do not x-ray. By ensuring this, you know your pup will have a better chance, knowing the parents hips and spines have been scored. Make sure your pup will be registered with Dogs New Zealand and not MDBA registered.

Huge vet bills since getting my dog from this breeder. Hip problems and breathing problems.
I don’t think the dogs are taken care of, my puppy was covered in fleas as well.

The only reason you breed outside the breed standard is for MONEY. Not to breed the best dogs you can and not for the good of the breed. Chocolate pugs what next???
So many problems since I got my dog off these people. Looking forward to hearing other reviews.

I only gave 1 star because I had too. If you use these breeders expect health issues, no response from breeder and expect to end up in court. They try to take anyone who complains to court!!
